An ETA is an Electronic Travel Authorization granted online through the web-based visa system operated by Sri Lanka Immigration.
Go to the home page and click “Apply Now,” then follow the guided steps to upload your passport, fill in your details and pay.
Refusals are rare and usually due to insufficient passport validity or a recent refusal under the same name. If you add refusal insurance and are still refused, you are automatically refunded in full (including the official fee) — no paperwork required.
If you have already applied for an ETA, you can check its current status on this website using your reference number, or contact us by email.
An ETA is valid for six months. You cannot obtain a new ETA on the same passport before the current one expires. If you lose the passport holding a valid ETA, you may pay the fee again to apply for a new one.
Application data is processed encrypted on our servers and only connects to the ETA system over an encrypted channel at the moment of submission. It is permanently deleted from our systems after the visa's 180-day validity period.
